Windows PCs - All PCs running Microsoft Windows are required to run a working up-to-date Antivirus. All Brunel owned PCs are covered by Brunel's licence for Kaspersky Endpoint Security. For PCs owned by individuals, the owner has the responsibility of selecting and obtaining an Antivirus product.

Apple Macs - All Brunel owned Apple Macs are required to run a working up-to-date Antivirus. All Brunel owned Macs are covered by Brunel's licence for Kaspersky Endpoint Security. For Macs owned by individuals it is strongly recommended that Antivirus software is installed.



Operating System Updates

Windows PCs and Macs must be set to automatically recieve and install operating system updates (critical and security).

Firewall

All PCs running Microsoft Windows are required to run a working firewall. This is included in Windows and is turned on by default.

Brunel owned Macs are required to run a working firewall. This is included in MacOS/OS X.

For personally owned Macs it is strongly recommended that a firewall is turned on.



Antispyware

Windows PCs - All PCs running Microsoft Windows are required to run a working up-to-date Antispyware product. All Brunel owned PCs are covered by Brunel's licence for Kaspersky Endpoint Security which provides this function. For PCs owned by individuals, the owner has the reponsibility of selecting and obtaining a product (most Internet Security products have this function).

Apple Macs - All Brunel owned Apple Macs are required to run a working up-to-date Antispyware product (Kaspersky Endpoint Security provides this function). For Macs owned by individuals it is strongly recommended that Antispyware software is installed.
